We have a 19-year old miniature dachshund. The food she eats has been discontinued. Needing recommendations for a healthy wet dog food replacement. Normal weight, cognitive disorder, no teeth, arthritis. Somehow still kicking.

Hello - that sounds potentially stressful for an old lady.   We would suggest having a chat to your vet nurse.  There are various foods on the market designed to help older animals to achieve their nutritional requirements given various bodily conditions, but there are also a lot of 'impostor' foods out there that look scientific and convincing from the outside.  Your local vet nurse will know the market near you and be able to suggest something suitable.   Please note that this is a sponsored site, and I will remain neutral.

You can argue all dogs are different, or some dogs are hardier than others, but that doesn’t mean they’re healthy. Although some dogs live a seemingly healthy long life on a dog food such as Pedigree, my personal recommendation would be to feed a diet more applicable to what is essentially a carnivorous animal, or if you do feed a brand like Pedigree then perhaps offer some variety with different brands or fresh foods. https://dogzgroomer.com/category/dog-food/

To the poster above, please note that dogs are not, actually, carnivorous.  They are omnivores and unlike cats, can survive on a vegetarian diet.
