can anybody advise me what they think this could be? I’ve tried to get a vets appointment and they don’t have any

Hello - I can see that normal skin may have changed here, from black to red, which can be concerning and does merit a check-up. I know nothing of the patient but it may well even merit a biopsy. Perhaps if appointments are scarce, they could book you in soon or carry out phone-triage?
