My 8 month old female Lakeland has been urinating normally, but the last 2 days she occasionally has drops of blood in her urine, as of this morning I have also noticed she has a greenish yellow mucus or discharge in her urine, again, not always. She has suffered with cystitis in the past and has been treated with antibiotics for a urine infection, is this cystitis again? And is the mucus related to cystitis? The mucus was not there the last time she had cystitis. Any information would be great.

Hello.  It could be cystitis again but seems unlikely to be 'just' cystitis;  I wonder what could be causing a pup of that age to recurrently get cystitis?  - this might merit further investigation.  It may be possible, for example, that there are underlying bladder or chemical issues, or sugar creeping through in the urine etc .  It could also be that she is showing signs of coming into season early, or has an infection of the reproductive tract such as juvenile vaginitis.  Any of these conditions should really be seen by a vet.

There is a condition called a pyometra, where pus is seen at the entrace of the vulva.  This would be very unusual in a pup of this age but is not completely unheard of and it is quite serious.  For this reason, we recommending asking for a quick appointment or for a vet to triage the case.
