Hi ,would vets please be able to tell me what the X-rays show , my vets aren’t sure and have sent us to a specialist but we have a 2 weeks wait so just wanting to know if there is anything that should be dealt with quicker than 2 weeks please .

Hi - it's really common that we get asked to give second opinions on pictures on this site, so I am likely to start by disappointing you. The concept of a second (professional) opinion relies on the second vet having more knowledge than the first vet. Sometimes they are more experienced ie twenty years older; other times they are specialists in the area (for example, your doctor, you GP, won't explain how they want to repair a fracture in your arm; they will send you to a doctor who sees nothing but orthopaedic cases all day long, because their ideas in that field are likely to be better). So in this case, I have LESS knowledge than your vet; I have no context. I cannot see what state the patient is in; I don't know how long they have been like that. I don't know how well they can walk or breathe (in any nedical sense). I don't know the heart-rate. It is therefore inappropriate for me to give a second (more informed) opinion; your GP's opinion is better medically informed than me!
Questions I would expect them to be considering are: How is the patient and in their current clinial state, how chronic or acute is this condition and is waiting for a week for restults a valid option? Does the patient need vital stablisation / pain releif etc now? I'm afraid that these judgements are for a vet with the situation in front of them and that if, for some reason, you or they are not happy with their ability to make a decision in the immediate term, then a true second opinion needs to be sought with some urgency.
Thank you for your reply , sadly dog passed away over night !! So I guess we will have to wait to see what the specialist makes of the X-rays now to see what he thinks was the matter with her
I'm so sorry to hear that news. I think that showing the radiographs to a specialist is an important thing to do. Glancing at that radiograph suggests to me that the patient had severe injuries, especially if it started acutely.

We have had a reply from the specialists today with regards to the X-rays in what they could see , they said she had heart failure and she should have been seen by them as soon as possible and we would have definitely had more time with her 🥲
thank you again for your reply
