Hello, my 6 year old Golden Retriever did something a little strange today and I was wondering if it could be a focal seizure. He was sitting on the tile floor and his front foot kept slipping because of the fur on the bottom of it. Suddenly he made a digging motion with the paw only. It only lasted seconds, he was still aware and had no after effects. Am I just being paranoid? The only meds he is on is prilosec and pepcid for his Gerd. I have just spent thousands getting his gerd diagnosed and don't want to rush to the vet if this is nothing. Thank you
It might be, the signs would be consistent with a focal seizure. However, there are other possibilities, including a proprioceptive lesion or even a sudden itch.
I’m afraid that I think a phone call to your vet might be a good idea, so at the least it’s recorded on his file even if they don’t need to see him.
