My 11 yr old girl has this "growth" under her nose. It is getting a big larger as time goes on but it doesn't seem to bother her. She isn't sneezing, rubbing it or even acting like it's there. It feels normal to the touch, it not hard, soft, etc.
Any ideas on what this could be?
Hello! - I'm afraid that this one needs to be checked. The main differentials (possibilities) for lumps and swellings include inflammation (eg due to a foreign body or allergy), infection and cancer, which can quite often be irregular, one sided and without pain or itch. Sometimes your vet will have a good idea of what's going on from the history and examination, but mostly they carry out tests eg radiographs or biopsies to diagnose the lesion. Best of luck to both of you and please do let us know what they find.
There are also some good articles about lumps, of various kinds, if you search in the blog, and more information about skin diseases / swellings of different kinds and biopsies if it comes to that. It may definitely be worth making an appointment Thinking of you both.
