Is that blood on my dog's poop?

So my dog has been sick for almost three weeks. I took him to the vet, and they said it was just seasonal allergies. I took him for a second opinion with another vet, and they said the same. Nothing wrong to be worried about. However, he has not stopped coughing and sneezing. He has a wheezing noise from his nose that only happens at night when he sleeps. He eats, plays, runs, drinks water, and acts normal, but today, on our walk, he pooped, and when I picked it up, I saw these little red stains and some mucus on his stool. I already have an appointment tomorrow with the vet, but I am distraught because he does not seem to improve. Do you think that little spot of blood could be something to feel worried about, or just by what I mentioned do you think this could be something else that the vets are not finding? Any recommendations on what tests to ask to be performed on Runy? So far, he has only had x-rays and a blood test, but that was three weeks ago.  

Hello!  I think that you are doing the right thing in having another appointment with your vet.  It sounds as though you are seeing flecks of red - fresh blood in the stool and that your dog may be experiencing breathing problems.  Obviously your vet has reviewed / triaged the case and fixed an appointment for tomorrow so they already have more information than me about the case, but if breathing signs or blood specks worsen over and above what you have told them about, you should always ask for the case to be triaged again.   I dont know where you live but wonder if its worth asking about local parasites that may affect clotting, for example.  There is a long list of possibilities at this stage and your vet will want to start ruling things out and also to help to keep your dog safe in the meantime.

Thanks for your reply. What worries me is that all of them are just saying allergies but have not left any allergy meds. What follow-up questions or exams do you think I should ask for? I'm sure the vet will say if they are needed or not, depending on what they consider, but I would like to get there with options and opinions. Knowing his problems are primarily respiratory and today the little blood flecks on his stool. So far, they have only performed an x-ray and one blood test three weeks ago.

Hello - when you say sick, do you mean, vomit?  If so, let me know but otherwise I will assume that you mean 'sick' as in, ill.  It sounds as though you want to know:  how did they arrive at the conclusion that your cat has an allergy?  Are there other things that it could be?  (could it be a Polyp, or respiratory infection, for example?)  You would also like to know, assuming that your cat has allergies, whether any treatments specifically for the allergy are needed?  I am not convinced that I can see blood flecks on this poo, but if you are (after all, you have a much better chance of seeing them), then you should ask what could be causing the blood flecks?  Is there anything that might be causing both signs at the same time?   It can sometimes feel intimidating to ask vets questions, but do remember that it's part of their job to explain things to you clearly, so it is absolutely fine to ask basic questions very clearly until you understand.
