I thought my pug had normal puppy acne. It is very swollen so looked inside her mouth and found a marble shaped lump on the other side. I think it could be a boil or cyst but the inside lump makes me wonder. Thank you
Hello! - I feel that given the penetration through the tissue planes, this lump should be checked in order to rule out anything sinister. Possibilities may include 1) cysts 2) an area of inflammation around a follicular mite or other foreign body 3) this includes allergic reactions but Ive listed them here separately 4) cancer (benign or sinister) eg a strawbettery lump (histeocytoma). The thickness is unusual and your vet may well reccommend tests before they venture a diagnosis.
I hope that something there helps.
