I noticed yesterday my basset hound has a bump on his snout right under his eye. I don’t have a picture of it, but it is located where the red circle is in the picture and is about the same size. It is only on his right side, doesn’t feel hard, but he flinched/closes his eye anytime I try to touch it. Any idea what it could be? 2781EAAB-3C31-49F7-B993-7D4837440DE4

Hello - that sounds to be a big bump!  There is a huge list of things that this could be, including infection, inflammation, a heamatoma, foreign body, cancer, abscess.  It's worth calling your vet for triage so that they can assess how soon an appointment is appropriate.

Hey there, did you ever find out what this was?  I was just in the vets office with my basset hound, and she noticed the exact same thing.  I hadn't even noticed it until she pointed it out, but as she had him in the back room she was showing the lump to another vet, and apparently it popped.  No fluid drained anywhere that they could see, and it appears to be gone now...but I am going to keep my eye on him.  Would love to know if you ever found out what it was!   I did feel it, and it was very soft - fluid filled...and didn't seem to bother him at all when we squeezed it or felt it.  Just didn't like us being that close to his eyeball.
