FB_IMG_1662539596808FB_IMG_1662539590757our 15 month old rescue cocker has a soft lump on one of his testicles. No inflammation, redness or pain. About the size of nail on my little finger.  Not sure if this is normal as all my other dogs have been neutered by 1 year. We do plan to neuter him.

Hello! I'm afraid that it's difficult for me to tell from here.  Dogs' testicles do have a lump on them;  it's called the epididimis and it's the head of the tube taking sperm down through the penis.  Is it the same on both sides?  It is common for testicular cancer not to involve redness or pain, but it is also common for it to prefer dogs over the age of seven.  That said, not every dog does what is common, so when we're talking about one individual, the trend is not a fixed rule.  We would thoroughly advise a check with your vet as soon as possible, hopefully just to put your mind at rest but also in case the castration needs to be brought forward.

Thankyou for your response. I have checked, and, yes, there is a lump on both of them. Feel a bit of a fool now but I'm not usually in the habit of fondling my dogs nuts as a rule 😉 .... I only noticed when i was trying to get rid of approximately 500 sticky buds from him. Thankyou again.
