My dog has type 2 vaginal prolapse.  This afternoon she had excess bleeding. I called the vet . He gave her medicine to stop bleeding and antibiotics for prolapse.  Does antibiotics work for prolapse.  Can you please suggest me some medicine

Hello!   Different cases of vaginal prolapse need to be assessed and treated individually.  There are different grades of prolapse and they can present differently depending on, for example, how long ago they occured, the hormonal status and the blood supply.  Infection or cancer can sometimes be involved, so we would expect to assess the situation, possibly taking biopsies or swabbing for infection and tailoring the treatment to the patient in front of us.  Not infrequently, surgery is required, but seeing your vet for a proper assessment is an important first step.

In answer to your question, antibiotics generally do not replace prolapses, but they help to control infection where infection is present as a result of one.  Hormonal treatments can help a little and so can surgery, depending upon what the vet finds.  Did the vet explain their plan from here and are they expecting to see your dog back?  Often, more than visit will be needed.

He said that he will give 3 dosages of antibiotics vaccine. If that didn't help he Said that we need to push that back . If that also didn't work he said surgery needs to be done .   What can  be the cause of excess bleeding in this type of case?

Hello!  I'm not sure why the already-diagnosed prolapse is bleeding.  I'm worried that the reproductive tract lining may have been scraped ( like a graze but much more serious, as it  can cause peritonitis if it goes full thickness).  Or perhaps the blood is coming from the womb eg if there is a pregnancy, pyometra or a bleeding lump (cancer?) or polyp up there.  Finally, a clotting defect may be a possibility, or the blood could be coming from the anus.   Any of these possibilities could become serious so we would advise calling your vet for triage now if you haven't already.

Took her to the another vet and we got to know that it's tvt . Gave her 1st dose of chemo today .  Chemo should be given on the weekly basis for 4 to 6 times. Will chemotherapy remove all the tumors complety after 4 to 6 dosages? Really worried 😟
