Hi, I'm calling my vet tomorrow however does anybody know what this pink spot is on the side of my German Shepherds mouth? He also appears to have kennel cough (He is up to date on his vaccines) he is 3 years old. Thank you in advance
Hello - I think this is an excellent idea. Presumably it is a recent change and recent colour changes of normal skin are definitely worth investigating. Possibilities may include cancer, endocrine disease, infectious (ringworm?) or inflammatory changes and having had a good look in real life and in detail, your vet should be able to propse a diagnostic plan going forward.
Given that this lump has appeared quite quickly in a 3 year old dog, one possibility of many may be a histiocytoma. However, speculation on my part is probably unhelpful, so hopefully your vet will help to get things on the right track.
