Hello! It sounds as though your vets have examined this ear and proposed a treatment for it. I have no idea what is in the scrub, so it may be a good idea to check with them what the scrub is and what it will treat. It's also a good idea to run any medication that you decide to use yourself past the vet, because there are strong contradictions against giving certain medications, even including 'off the shelf' ones, to pregnant dogs.
Clients should feel that they can build up a relationship with their vets and ask questions when they are unsure about something. It sounds as though you do not trust your vets' proposed plan, so I would strongly advise picking up the phone.
Good questions include 'What so you think it is?' and 'Is ringworm still on the differentials list?'
We do not give second opinions on this site as they are unlikely to be as good as the first opinion.
