Hello Vets, My dogs skin is broken out badly and Shes itching. She is 6 and a Stratford Terrier. I don’t know if I should take her to the vet or not. This is her skin and how can I treat it or do I need to take her to the vet? 7E8CB33F-CEEA-4228-BE5B-CD8F5952FC2ED85BDDA8-85A2-498D-8097-39F70DF50CB7

Hello - thank you for the picture.  This looks like a superficial rash, which may have been caused by bacteria getting into the skin much like teenaged spots.  Jn the past we treated these with antibiotics, but we don't prescribe antibiotics for teenaged spots and so that is becoming less common.  If the vet thinks that it is superficial, they will often prescribe a shampoo etc to clear it up.  Why is just below the belly-button blue?  MTF

However, if this is mild, superficial pyoderma or yeast infection then it is usully secondary to immune weakness or to scratching; then the question becomes, what is causing the scratching?  An allergy, for example?  A weakened immune system - by what?  I am so slightly concerned about what looks like very dark patches on the photograph and feel that this tummy should be looked at more closely in person.  So yes, all in all, this is definitely worth the while to show to your vet.
