Slight swelling

Hello, Our girl has slight swelling they seems to be in the throat/neck area. It doesn’t bother her and she is her happy self. Could it possibly be a swollen gland or lymph node? She is due for her vaccinations soon so will get a full health check. Also, a friend wanted to know how to treat seasonal alopecia (however you spell it) She wants her coat to come back. Thank you. Hello - are we talking about your dog losing hair here or a different one?  If different, Im afraid that your friend will have to post for her own pets because it wouldnt be in line with this site's medical ethics to comment otherwise.   I can't see the swelling in your dogs' throat from here - that could easily be a simple roll of fat - but swellings in the neck could be a) the normal larynx / "voicebox" in humans.  Having a feel of a few friendly dogs' throats with their owners permission, would give you a good idea about what normal ones feel like B) an enlarged lymph node - can be associated with infection, inflammation or cancer C) the thyroid gland - especially in hypothyroid individuals where this is enlarged D) a foreign body / fly bite / other form of swelling in or just beneath the skin. E) a cyst, fatty lump, abscess or cancer. F) the salivary gland or an abnormality to it Because most of these (except the normal larynx) would need treating by a vet, its well worth asking for the case to be triaged (assessed as to urgency) and perhaps allocated an appointment.

When she looks down her skin is like a fat roll. But I will feel her mother under the throat and see if they are the same but there seems to be slight swelling. She was diagnosed with an inlongated soft palate. She could have thyroid issues but of course we will get her assessed. She is 8 years old. My apologies, it is her with the hair loss on both sides of her flank area. We thought seasonal alopecia as it looks like the pictures we found & it sounds like it. She has had a cytopoint injection before as she has skin allergies but this time she hadn’t been biting her feet etc. You worry about your babies. Just don’t want it to be the big C. Thanks.
