Hello - this one needs to be seen by a vet in context. The cartilage does naturally bend and bump in some ears, particularly in breeds where the ear-canals are slightly closed-off, and I wonder whether this issue might be anatomical (ie. due to natural abnormal shape - 'normal for them.') However, other causes may include insect bites, scratches and scrapes from an itchy ear, a skin fold natural to your dog that has some friction and therefore gets sore, a polyp or growth including various cancers and of course, any skin disease that causes such skim lesions in normal life eg demodex (none-itchy, hair-bulb dwelling) mites. The issue may therefore range from being treatable with bathing and vaseline, to needing biopsies. Please do see your vet.
