IMG_5207 our dog is reactive towards humans so it’s difficult to get him to the vet let alone get someone to look into his eyes other than us, but I’ve noticed that he has this brown spot to the right of his iris in the sclera - it’s been there for as long as I can remember (he’s 3) and doesn’t seem to bother him, it just looks concerning. Anyone know what this is or whether it is dangerous?

Hello!  I'm not convinced that I can identify this from here and would therefore reccommend showing it to a veterinary opthalmologist, unless your own vet is happy to give a diagnosis.  Possibilities may range from pigmentary keratitis to melanoma or other tumours of the uveal tract, so early identification may prove useful.

On a human level, I hear your concerns about going to the vets.  It can be extremely stressful for some animals and owners.  Some practises, if they have the means, may try to help make this easier eg by reccommending times when there are no other dogs and people in the building / letting him wait - and sometimes even be examined - outside.
