Hello, out kitten (9 months) has a swollen lymph node on the left side of his neck. That is the only symptom, he's playing like crazy still, eating, using the bathroom, still cuddly, etc. He has no open wounds that we can see and hasn't gotten into anything that we're aware of. My husband said he had sneezed a little the other day, but I haven't heard or seen him sneezing at all. We're wondering if we can wait it out to see if it goes away, or if/when we need to bring him into the vet. Thank you, Christina

Dear Christina, I would contact your vet.  Sometimes enlarged lymph nodes do resolve on their own, for example when they occur with infection, but one sided lymph node swelling is more unusual and can be an early sign of cancer, dental disease or a foreign body, any of which would be unfortunate to miss. I am surprised that a lay person would know how to feel a lymph node and wonder if you are a doctor?
