Woke up this morning and there's the tiniest little blood dot in my dog's eye. He's acting totally normal. Is this anything to be concerned about? Please let me know, thank you so much for your help!
Hello! Changes to eyes are very often to be worried about, I'm afraid. This sounds as though it's within the globe and not on the lens, so I immediately start to wonder about uveal cysts or tumours, for example. Have you shown it to your vet? This would be a good first move; however if they are not completely satisfied as to the nature of the lesion, they may decide to refer the case to an eye specialist.
Correction:. ...and not on the cornea.
(I said 'lens'). .....
My guess from the front view, is that the spot looks to be fwd of the lens, but a vet with an opthalmoscope would need to confirm this as I can't see a side-on view. They would help you to decide where to go from here.)
Hi,
I know it's been a year since you posted, but did you ever find out what the red spot was? I noticed a similar spot in my dog's eye yesterday and can't find anything about it on the web.
I also just noticed the same red dot this morning (which appears to be on the outer lense of my pup’s eyeball ). Any information that anyone can share from the findings of these last posts would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks so much
Did anyone get any update or anymore information regarding this?
My dog has symmetrical dots on both her eyes (to the original posts photo).
We have booked a vets appointment tomorrow but are worried about what it could be?
She had an allergic reaction last week & we took her in, she has been on steroids this week and feel that it could be part of the reason why these red dots have appeared?
Any information will be hugely appreciated.
