My 12 yo dog was diagnosed with toxoplasmosis and neospora. I didn’t get much information from the vet tech when they called me with his blood test results. I was given 8 weeks Antibiotics eith follow ups blood tests to do. Will he be ok after that? He has neurological problems. Are my other dog and cat at risk? Am I at risk? Should I see my doctor?   Thanks!

Hello!   This is  very broad spectrum of questions.  Vet help direct have a good summary sheet about Toxoplasmosis here:  https://vethelpdirect.com/pet-health-library/cat-toxoplasmosis/ And neospora here:  https://vethelpdirect.com/vetblog/2023/09/26/neospora-in-dogs-how-serious-is-it/ And a short summary about Zooenotic diseases in all pets, here https://vethelpdirect.com/vetblog/2014/06/25/zoonotic-diseases-what-could-you-catch-from-your-pet/ I'm sorry - you may have to copy and paste these into your browser. In the UK at least, your vet has a duty to discuss the zooenotice aspect of disease with you thoroughly, in light of your own particular case, so please make sure that space is set aside for you for do that. Meanwhile, do come back to me with any unanswered questions.
