Wondering if someone has seen this before, the eye where the pupil is bigger her left, right hand side if looking at pic. We have seen a vet, there is no cancer or infection noted. It’s very unusual and pupil seems to pool at the bottom. It may be injury related as she was a stray or genetic? We adopted her a week ago but would appreciate any insight.
Hello! Im interested in this line, 'We have seen a vet but there was no cancer or infection noted.' In what circumstances was this vet consulted? Does this mean, 'The vet had a good look at the eye and ruled out any cancer or infection' (and how would they have done this in a lesion fixed behind the cornea? Did they biopsy it? Did they write a report on the clinical notes?) Or do they mean, 'a vet speyed the cat in a neuter clinic but they didnt mention the eye.' There appears to be a significant abnormality here, with discolouration of the eye which may be a sign of uveal cysts or cancer eg melanoma (the two are notoriously difficult to tell apart). Another possible differential is a developmental abnormality- caused as they eye was forming - or a reaction. To my mind, if there is nothing in the notes, then the way to be sure would be to get someone to look at this in three dimensions and then to consult an opthalmologist.
