My 7 y/o SF Lab Mix had horizontal nystagmus back in March. She couldn’t move her body or walk at all. Vet thought inner ear infection, we did meds. Haven’t had any problems till yesterday, she had horizontal nystagmus again for a much shorter duration and just stood in place while it was happening. Is this something that warrants a call to a neurologist?

Hello - and yes; if you want to get to the bottom of a case of nystagmus and the vet has seen everything that they can see, then a referral may be a good idea.  Nystagmus implies disruption somewhere along the length of the vestibular nerve and a better understanding of what is causing this can be very helpful.  Sometimes, depending on the patient and signs, an MRI might be called for.  Best of luck and please do let us know how you get on.
