14 year old pit vizla with significant weight loss and muscle wasting and lethargy taken to ED for light headedness and pale gums with lab work and ultrasound as below. Chest plain films totally negative. Appreciate thoughts on what this could be.
Hello - I'm a little confused by the question; it looks as though your vet has done an extensive work up and provided a sonographer's report wih conclusions listed at the bottom. I realise that the sonographer's report is written in sonewhat complicated language but hopefully the vets have sat down with you and discussed what these mean and what options are available?
If they haven't yet, please do talk with them. I wonder if the spleen is bleeding, thereby causing signs of blood-loss in the patient (reduced red blood cells, weakness / lightheadedness, pale gums and fast heart rate) but this is commonly the point at which weakness is seen by the owner and splenic tumours are diagnosed. What is happening now?
