My dog (2 year old Husky and Golden retriever mix {we think that's what he is anyways}) has been having a raspy cough that's made it hard for him to bark and has been throwing up a white viscous puke for a few days and I'm not sure what to do I've thought about going to a vet but I don't really have a whole lot  of money so I'm not sure what to do

Hello  I wonder whether you might be describing kennel-cough, which can often result in a nasty-sounding cough with a bit of frothy liquid coming up.  In young, healthy animals this may well pass, but prescribed drugs often make things much more pleasant.  Some of the other differentials (possible explanations for the coughing) however, might become worse with time / be quite serious e.g. a foreign body in the airways, heart or lung disease, so would definitely benefit from being seen.  A good idea would be to call the vet and ask to be triaged to see if / how soon an appointment is needed based on the exact symptoms.  Best of luck and please let us know how you get on.
