Hi vets,
Does anyone have any insight as to whether this looks like a tick or a mole on my dog? It's so hard to tell. It's not moving at all when we manipulate it. We tried to hold a hydrogen peroxide soaked cloth over it to see if it would encourage it to retract if it is a tick, and there was no change. Any ideas how to tell if it's a tick or not? Thank you!
Hello! Ticks are attached only at the pointy end of the oval; you can slide a peice of paper between the tick's body and the skin; literally they hang on only by the mouthparts at one end. Lumps are usually more 'attached' than this.
