Crooked puppy teeth

The golden retriever puppy that we are set to welcome into our home was found to have crooked lower canines on her 6 week check. The vet subsequently removed the teeth with the hope that the adult teeth might grow normally. We were just wondering, how likely is it that she will have further dental problems? Can this be a sign that there might be different, more complex underlying problems (e.g. other congenital problems)? If she did have further problems, would they likely cost us more than $2000? No family history of any dental issues. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello!  I'm afraid that I have never seen your future pup and have no idea why the teeth were crooked, so cannot be depended upon to answer this question.  The person who could, however, if the vet who removed the teeth.  You should ask to receive a letter or be put into direct contact with them (the vet will need the breeder's permission to speak to you) and then you will know exactly what the score is.   It shouldn't be too difficult for the owner to ask a vet to do this;  you could even ask to attend a consultation together with the owner e.g. for the second vaccination.   If this suddenly becomes difficult, it may be assumed that there is more to this story than you have been told.  Best of luck.

PS Thinking about this, vets are busy at the moment, on a national scale, but the receptionist should be able to print out the clinical notes pretty easily on request by the owner (they can't give them directly to you without permission due to client confidentiality)  I hope this helps.
