Hello - and I'm extremely sorry that you lost your new kitten. This is a horrible story and must have been very difficult for both you and the kitten. Sadly it is only too common, that people are sold a kitten online with what may have been a pre-existing disease, or may have been a rapid decline. For this reason we normally advise a vet check at handover. You may want to consider reporting the incident and the advert to the RSPCA.
Are you in the UK? In any country, but certainly by law in the UK, if an animal under your care is poorly, then you do have a duty to provide timely veterinary care, even if that involves travelling. This sometimes involves taking a kitten to the vets in the middle of the night or out of hours and will invoke a fee because there is no NHS for animals. A poorly kitten can deteriorate very fast and often won't wait until Monday, which is the reason for providing 24 hour care.
As is not within your remit to do this, we would strongly advise that you do not replace the kitten.
Wishing you all the best after this traumatic and regrettable experience.
