Hello my 3 years old labrador was coughing since many days . So I took her to the vet and we came to know that there islittle swelling in her heart due to fluid accumulation. We she is on diuretics.  And she stopped walking around and being active . Her back legs are not supporting her. So we are giving her joint and hip supplements.  And now she has stopped eating too . Tho her cough got stopped . She only coughs once or twice a day . When I get up today . There is kind of movement in her upper part of head. Idk the real term used to describe about that . What's the reason behind that ?how can I send you a video of that?

Hello!  Wow - what a strange movement.   I am not sure what is causing it.  I wonder whether there is something putting periodic pressure on a nerve somewhere, or whether something may have been putting pressure on the throat causing coughs, has now moved.  Both of these suggestions seem a little vague and far fetched.   The throat and ears are connected by a tube - the eustachian tube - and I can imagine a diverticulum, or extra part of, the eustachian tube having this sort of effect. It sounds as though the heart may be under control - is she on tablets?  But I can't really be sure from your description whether the lack of movement is down to the heart struggling, or arthritis causing pain in the joints, or linked to a neurological problem, or due to a massive headache because something unexpected is putting extra pressure in that area!  Obviously these different possibilities have a range of possible outcomes. Has a clinician seen this?  We would strongly advising letting a vet examine this patient or video, and work out how urgently the case needs to be seen. I would be very much interested to know what is found.

Yes she is taking lasix.  Yes we took her to the vet 5 days ago . He told that due to decrease In appetite she has become weak and due to her weight  it is putting more pressure on her back legs . So she isn't moving.  We are giving her joint and hip supplements too . She has runny nose . And now she is panting heavily and her ears are hot and nose is dry. Is this a symptom of fever. Tomorrow is Saturday and all her vet will not be available tomorrow.  So can you please tell me some medicine I could give her to relief the  pain ?

Hi - appropriate pain releif really is the requisite of the vet responsible for her case.  If she is panting heavily, she is likely in pain or too hot or having breathing difficulties (or potentially in acidosis) any of which is an emergency.  What country are you in? - in the UK vets are obliged to provide emergency care as required and a Saturday shouldn't make any difference, but I realise that not every country has that privelidge.  Unfortunately I am in the UK and have to follow our prescribing rules, which would be not to give meds until you have some idea of what is going on.   It sounds to me as though she may be in pain so looking for an out of hours vet as soon as possible sounds like an absolutely crucial next step.

Hello!  I'm sorry not to see this message when it was posted - by now you will have been to the vets.   I am also worried by what you reported  - how did things go?
