Hello! The length of time you've noticed this for may rule out GDV and pregnancy, except in some rare situations where more than one thing is going on (animals with an emglarged stomach for other reasons can still get a GDV for example). However, abdominal fluid can accumulate gradually and look like this, so it is more likely that heart disease, tumours, cysts, enlarged livers, womb problems or a combination of these things could be to blame. Fluid can accumulate due to fluid imbalances eg in heart disease, too. The main take home message is that something appears to be very abnormal here and that investigations would pinpoint a diagnosis and may or may not result in opportunities to put things right. Wishing you and your little one all the best.
