My dog is 7 years old. She got a cut on her paw, and then suddenly her paw got really big. I did get medication for her but the vet said if the lump does not go down, she may have to do some tests, because it may be a tumor. I tried looking on google to see what it may be but I couldn’t find any picture that looks like my dogs paw. What do you think it is?
@tiny fishing I think you need to keep an eye on the swelling in your dog's paw. Note any changes in size, appearance, or behavior. If the swelling persists or worsens, it's important to follow up with your vet promptly.
Hello - I'm afraid that cancer would indeed be one of my top differentials (possibities) here. Another might be a severe yeast or fungal infection, or even trauma (if, for example, the nerves to the foot were damaged for some reason). Depending on the context, tests might well be in order. Your vet may decide to speak with the pathology lab when deciding what samples to send.
