Hi My 18-month-old BC got neurological spasms during her last period, this had never happened before and lasted for about 10-20 minutes, it happened the 2nd after two weeks again… Is it something to be concerned about? Could it be an early sign of epilepsy!? Thanks

Hello - Yes, epilepsy / fitting can take on all kinds of appearances and is common in the border collie, so this is certainly a consideration.  Seizure activity does not always involve the whole brain.  There are various other neuromuscular reasons for twitching and brain-related reasons too.  Finally, surprising things like a luxating patella can sometimes present in this way.   We would strongly reccommend keeping a diary of what you have seen (it can get hard to think back) and asking for the case to be triaged for an appropriate appointment.
