Hi Everyone
I am a bit in panic, as my puppy (8 month old biewer terrier) has a lump next to his penis, on the right side. He acts normal, eats, plays and jumps without any issues, and the lump is only visible when the dog stands on his back paws when you hold his front paws up. I am stressed it could be something serious as he’s my whole life. Any advice much appreciated before I get to the vet tomorrow. Probably going to have a sleepless night.
Hello - I'm afraid that I can't make your concern go away immediately; my picture is somewhat blurry but even if it were clear, most vets would want to look in real life and then to test it if need-be. Not every lump is cancer; there are local foreign bodies, infections, inflammatory reactions, benign cancers, overgrown follicles, hair changes, urticaria, allergic reactions, badly aligned nipples and so on. I attach my favourite 'lumpy dog' post, but there are other more up-to-date / recent ones if you navigate around the blog. I hope that something there will be useful. Wishing you both the best of luck, https://vethelpdirect.com/vetblog/2019/11/04/my-pet-has-a-lump-what-should-i-do/
