Pittbull growth

He has a black growth 3/4 down his back size 1/8 in. By 1/4 in. Raised.  What could it be please.  He didn’t hurt himself, and he's 16 years old

Hello - one of the things I think that this could be is a melanoma, so I would reccommend having your vet sample or remove it to make sure.  Of course, this plan depends on context; I know nothing about the rest of your dog.  If you or your vet wouldn't reccommend anything different even if it did turn out to be a sinister lump, you might decide together not to biopsy.

Furthermore, your vet can see this in the flesh, so to speak; there may be other things that they feel are worth ruling out first.
