What would be considered an overdose on medications? Specifically carprofen… for example this dog is about 8 lbs, dosing is 1/4 tablet every 24 hours but was given 1/4 tab every 12 hours for a total of 48 hours. Is that considered an overdose or would it be a longer time frame? Is there a reason for concern?

Hello - I'm not clear how big (strong) the Carprofen tablets were, so it's hard to say.   However, as with any suspected overdose or toxicity case, you should call your vet immediately and let them know what your dog had and when, in order to find out what, if any, action is necessary.   They may well have the means to access a database detailing lessons learned from previous cases.   I hope that this is useful.
