My newest family addition (adopting) is a 57lb, mixed breed (she shares a lot of physical characteristics with the 'working' breeds, and has a pretty high 'prey drive' for the smaller animals/rodents), approximately 3 years old- with a recent heartworm test indicator of 2+... To give her the best quality of life and the longest possible life, what treatment method would be best: 'slow kill' or 'fast kill'? My brain is reeling right now as we JUST had her splint removed (12+ weeks) from a severe humorous fracture (hit by a car- I found her crying, and my household has grown by one ever since)... ???
