Hello. I'm afraid that I wouldnt sex a cat from this photo. A lot of the gender questions on this forum relate to complex situations so a good view is required; here I can see the anus very well, but the genetalia appears to be lost in dark fur. Most cats with tortoiseshell coats are female by default, but some rare individuals do have male genitalia and a condition known as 'intersex'. Females have two 'holes' beneath their tails; the anus and a 'slit' directly beneath it, rather close, often like an upside down exclaimation mark. In males, thete is a signigicant gap - often an inch or more - between the anus and the round hole that is the end of the penis; the testicles will eventually develop between them. Please ask your vet, who can examine the patient in real life, to sex this patient for you.
