So when my 3 year old doberman drinks water, he goes as deep as he can. Because his chin is all wet, he is getting acne on the chin. We have switched from stainless steel bowls to glass pie plates, 2 inches deep. When i am home, i am constantly wiping his chin after he drinks and eats. The vet gave him a round of antibiotics which cleared up the acne. Now that i am back at work and not around during the day to wipe his chin after drinking, the acne is back. I do not want to keep him going on antibiotics all the time. I heard that apple cider vinegar in the water may help. Any ideas would be appreciated.IMG_1177IMG_1178

Hello!   We would not advise adding vinegar to your dogs' water on a regular basis.  Experimenting with different size, shape and material drinking containers, however, appears to have been helpful and there may be something that works better still .  I wonder whether your vet feels that a topical antibacterial shampoo may be helpful in controlling any infection, rather than giving oral antibiotics?  It's worth a chat to them.  Best of luck an please do let us know how you get on.
