Months ago this was smaller, and I can’t remember what the vet called it but I assume cyst. She said it could be biopsy but she recommended to keep an eye on it. I’ve noticed it’s bigger. I was cleaning him up when I saw this, I don’t think it was this size last week. Apologies for the poop, I ran out of gloves and he has a lot of fur (Australian Shepherd, 8 year old neutered male).
It’s below (on edge) of his rectum.
I’m wondering if any vet has seen this before and what could it be or cause it? I have him scheduled in a few weeks to look at again. I can’t tell if it’s causing him pain.
Hello! It's not uncommon to get lumps on the rectum and there are different possibilities for what it could be. A repeat check, as soon as possible, is advised (it may continue to grow and this is a difficult and sensitive place to remove any kind of lump from, should it prove necessary). If you go to the blob and search for 'lumps,' you will find lots of articles.
