Hello.
please could I have some advice on my dogs cT scans?
I have a 9 month old lab who intermittently limps on his left leg. We got these ct scans which confirms elbow dysplacia but I would like to know a little bit more and a second opinion please. Going by the scans Does his elbow dysplacia look quite mild or severe ?
we are trying conservative management first.
Hello! I'm afraid that we don't give second opinions based on imaging. You have paid for your vets time in reading these scans; they will have examined your dog, spent significant time in trying to read the situation properly for you and I cannot give a comparable answer based on a computer image alone. If you truely feel that you cannot rely on your vets' opinion in this matter, the best thing is to ask them to refer the case to a specialist; they will send their examination findings and the scans so that it can be done in a proper manner. Furthermore, with radiographs at least, it is nigh-on impossible to tell the severity of the signs from the scan results, for a variety of reasons. This really needs to be assessed in relation to the dog.
