Hello! I wonder about ringworm, demodex, lick damage from pain the joint (surprisingly neat, if it's that one), or a wound or scrape. You say 'one of my pups'; ringworm is potentially infectious, so check the others.
I think it would be a good idea to let your vet know about this, book an appointment and ask if there's anything they want you to do in the meantime.

I would also add to be aware that eg ringworm is infectious, so avoid touching the area / contact with immunocompromised people, until you know.
