Hello, my cane Corso is 1.5. He's usually very energetic but he's been laying around not wanting to move and whining a lot more than usual. I can't see anything wrong besides, his penis looks bad to me and his testicles, well it looks like he has a extra set!! I doubt that's what it is but it feels and looks like both sacks have testicles. Not sure please reply!!
Hello! I wonder if the set close to the penis might be a lump or gland? Either way that penis looks sore and I think it should be triaged immediately if it has not been. Please contact your vet or their emergency specialist for triage, without delay.
To give you more background on this, the glands become enlarged when the penis is engorged, thus lodging the penis within the female during mating. This is called copulatory lock, or a 'tie' and improves fertility by preventing withdrawal, maximising sperm transfer. However if an errection is not going down or seems to be bothering the dog, as you described, emergency intervention can sometimes be required, which is why we suggested triage. Wishing you all the best
