Is this a tick?

My puppy has had a tiny scab-like bump on her head for about a week. It’s not disappeared yet so I’m starting to worry it’s a tick bite. It’s about 1mm big - absolutely tiny. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her. She’s had a bad stomach today but I’m not sure if it’s related to this or not. She won’t let me get near it so I doubt I’ll be able to try and remove it - should I get an emergency vet appointment? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello!   I'm afraid that the resolution on this photo isn't good enough for me to say whether it might be a tick or not and, not being the vet responsible for your pet, we don't usually give diagnoses out on this forum.  However, there are ways to recognize a tick.  Usually, they are small, brown, grey or beige smooth rounded lumps and if you gently nudge them with your finger or try to slide a peice of paper under them from all sides, you will find that they are 'stuck on' to the pet at one side of the lump only (the head end); the other side of the lump lifts away from the skin or the paper passes beneath it. IMPORTANTLY, please don't try to pull the tick or wriggle it backward and forward on its 'hinge' as they have a habit of breaking off, leaving the head in situ.  Rather, follow your vets' advice for getting them out and discuss the local incidence of tick-borne diseases with your vet.
