My 10yo female cavalier King Charles spaniel recently visited her vet and was diagnosed with uveitis in her R eye and stomatitis. She was given neopolydex for her eye and clindamycin to help with her mouth while we schedule a dental cleaning. She has been on the eye drop for about a week, and the clindamycin for about 2 days. We have noticed since starting the clindamycin she is now standing up to pee - she will do her normal lean/squat but then quickly changes her stance into more of an arched back/standing posture to urinate. Her urine does not look dark and we do not see blood in it, and it seems (from what we can tell) to be in her normal quantity. Could this be connected to the clindamycin? Should we contact her vet for this?

Hello!  I can't obviously connect this sign to clindamycin;  however, there are different forms of clindamycin available now and your prescribing vet (or their emergency team if it's urgent) should always be happy to check the drug datasheet for you.  Another possibility may be that your dog is uncomfortable while urinating at the moment.  This can be connected to cystitis (you were obviously wondering about this - it doesn't always show without a microscope) but it can also be connected joint or abdominal pain. Whatever the cause, it's always a good idea to contact your vet when new symptoms appear, particularly if, as you say, new meds have been introduced.  We'd be interested to know how you get on.
