I got a basset hound puppy 6 weeks old. Ive noticed shes started to whine when she pees and tries to pee a lot. Took her to the vet, got amoxicillin because they couldn't get a urine sample. Gave her the first dose, she puked it up about 10 minutes later. Got lethargic, didnt want to eat or drink. I let her nap and then gave her a few ml of pedilyte every 10 minutes. About an hour later she perked up, ate and drank. But now she keeps trying to poop with no luck. Side effect of medication or should we see an emergency vet?

Hello!  I certainly think that you should contact an emergency vet for triage, as her symptoms have taken a dramatic turn. There are other causes of frequent urination that can be more urgent than a urine infection, eg diabetes, so given that things are changing, it may be wise to rule them out (if you get the opportunity to catch a urine sample in a clean container on the way to the clinic, do so). I don't know what Covid restrictions are like where you are, but you may have to call the emergency vets for triage and do the first part on the phone. Please do let us know how you get on!
