Puppy

Hi I purchased two puppies, I am a breeder. I have however never seen this before. I have a male puppy, you can see two testicles however he has NO scrotal sack area.... the skin is tight but the testicles have descended from inside him..or are trying to but they have no where to go. Will this dog end up having descended testicles? Or will they end up retaining? i also own his sibling brother and his testicles have a sack area where the skin is stretchy.... I’m so confused on this... the male with the no sack area has better structure/phenomenal type and much better socialbility so I would prefer to keep this male as a future stud dog once all health testing is completed. 

Hello!   How old and what breed is this puppy? You'll be aware that if a puppy's testicles don't descend into the scrotum, they will not be kept at the correct temperature to develop and produce sperm.  They also have a much higher than usual chance of becoming cancerous later on and of course, the condition may be hereditary.  Vets therefore decline to pull testes down into the scrotum if they don't drop by themselves (if there is no scrotum, this may not even be possible if it were ethical) and we usually suggest castration.  However, the pups can still lead fantastic lives. So will these ones drop?  I cannot say.  Some pups do simply take a little longer than their litter-mates to develop and it can seem as though there is no bag at first, so if he is a young puppy, he may just have some developing to do.  It is not common for dogs to be born without the ability to develop a scrotum, but I'm afraid it is possible.  If this is still the state of affairs after the pups have reached a certain size, your vet may recommend castration.  Presumably the Tiddler in question is due a puppy check soon, which will be a good opportunity let them examine things properly and talk it over.  Best of luck and please do let us know how this story ends!
