Hi I have this bump on my dogs vaulva for about 9 days now & I was just wondering if it’s very serious or not. It also seems to have gotten under her butthole is swollen , I just noticed it today. the vet costs soo much money & I just don’t wanna take her then all of a sudden it’s fetal & I loose her. Here’s some info she’s not fixed , she’s about 13 years old now & she’s a female haha. Please let me know your thoughts !! Oh & yes she won’t stop licking it.
Hello! I'm confused as to how this wasn't seen yesterday and wonder if it has popped out from inside the vulva. If there's any chance that the lump is sticking out from the inside, or even the edge of the inside, it may need to be seen immediately so please call your emergency vet to be triaged. Possibilities include: a vaginal polyp; a malignant or benign cancer; a prolapse; a cyst. There are also signs that the area is being scratched or licked, in which case please do mention it to the emergency vet because even if it doesn't turn out to need emergency treatment, they may be able to help stop her from making it worse. Please do let us know what happens next.
What do you mean seen yesterday . ? & it’s not from the inside , she’s bleeding from her vagina soo she’s on her period now. Yes she licks it & I’ll show more pics !!! Soo you think I should save some $ & get her checked . ?
I was wondering whether the fact you didn't see it yesterday was because it had popped out from the inside (but admit it doesn't look that way from the pictures). If it is on the surface, then perhaps it has come up quickly because of the hormonal cycle. Either way, we would always recommend getting lumps in this area checked by your vet.
Licking such a lump - (and also scraping it along the floor in some dogs) - can cause damage it it and result in unpleasant infections, even before the identification of the lump is an issue. Best of luck with your dog and please do let us know what happens next.
I looked at the first photo trying to find out what my dog had. Wish there had been an answer. So hope this helps someone! Take your dog to the vet asap . I waited however once I took her to my vet they did an aspiration and sent it off for testing. It came back as a mass cell cancer tumor. I am currently waiting for follow up to see if it is operational or if chemo will help . See your vet asap!!!
