Hello! Fleaing and worming with a veterinary-grade treatment is usually a vets' first move with itchy skin cases. Most vets will prescribe a few month's worth to help to rule out fleas as a cause. If you can get a low-cost flea or worm check with your vet or pharmacist, this might be helpful to get a decent quality antiparasiticide prescribed. However, be warned that as skin signs are present, they may need you to make a paid appointment for a work-up of the case at the same time. If they do, then it will be because this is needed. It is always worth calling and asking the question.
