My boy has cut his paw on what must have been glass. I regretfully say that I have not managed to keep up with his insurance payments recently due to my own health. I'm prepared to spend everything I have to help him. I am not a wealthy man.   I have have been cleaning it with alcohol wipes, anti bacterial solution with water, and dressing it with plaster and bandages. It isn't actively bleeding but isn't exactly healing very well either. I can't get to the vet until Monday does this require stitches? I think it does and I'm losing my mind worrying about him. Luckily I am able to observe him all the time. He shows little regard for it when I take him outside for toilet, but doesn't like me dressing and cleaning i20221207_16401420221207_163957t.

Hello - the trouble with those cuts is that when both sides swell, it is difficult to sew them together.  I dont know what it was sliced on, but there is a fair chance of it being infected.   In an ideal world. Antibiotics would be given as soon as possible - does your vet do a Sat am surgery?  - they would usually examine the pad, take into consideration your finances and the shape of the pad, and make a decision to banage or suture it.

Alcohol gels and wipes are good for removing bacteria from smooth, unbroken skin surfaces, but are not designed for cleaning wounds inside the body (under the skin, like this) and should not be used for that purpose.
