Hello. I’m just wondering what’s going on with my puppy. His 3 months old. Super healthy. Energetic and just overall normal. He’s a Saint Bernard. Full breed. I have been noticing some blood residue around his legs from when he’s just laying down. There is no blood in the urine so I’m not sure why this is happening. Does someone have an idea of why this could be.

Hello- I'm not sure what this is, but it doesn't sound normal!  When there is urine in the blood, it isnt necessarily visible all the time, so just because you have seen clear urine, doesn't mean that the urine is clear. Your vet could test a sample with an instant 'stick'  to detect small. microscopic amounts of blood in the urine.   If it is in the urine, it could have come from the prostate, bladder or kidneys, so its a good thing to check!  Another big possibility is the skin;  if the vet suspects this, they may shave some hair to examine the skin's surface.  Possibilities there include wounds or dermatitis.  You said he was a male so seasons aren't possible, but I did wonder whether prostate disease might be another possibility.  Either way, we reccommend getting this checked out.

I read that you have only noticed this very recently; it could be that your vet needs to triage the case on the phone, in order to establish whether or not it may be an emergency.
