Hello. I have an appointment this coming week with my vet but before I go I wanted to see if you could help me out. The attached picture shows a part of my dog’s trachea and I was wondering if it looked normal or like it could be collapsing? He has been coughing pretty much daily and he already had coughing meds but it didn’t go away. So that’s why I am wondering if it could be that. I saw a video on how the collapsing trachea cough sounds and his sounds pretty much like that but I still would like to know what you think before I go to my vet. Hello.  According to posters on this site, it seems to be an increasing trend that vets show radiographs to owners and allow them to be photographed, without passing comment to the owner on the findings.   To me this is strange but I am in no position to translate another vets' radiographs for you.   This is the responsibility of the vet who knows the case and would cross an ethical line on my part.

Has your vet seen the radiograph?  If not (perhaps the picture was taken elsewhere?) and particularly if your dog is struggling, it may be worth asking them to triage the case again for an earlier appointment.
